Hello there,
Hope you’re doing well
I’m working hard setting up my Flourish with the Moon class so I was going to skip a newsletter this week, but then I was lifting weights at the YMCA and I got inspired to check in.
I am back at physical therapy because I have some weakness in my leg that led to an uncomfortable spasm.
It has been so interesting; we’ve figured out a couple things.
The random shooting pain down my legs I was having on and off many times a day for over a year seems to have resolved around the time when I replaced my 25 year-old mattress!
Amazing!
So, if you or someone you love has back pain that might be a place to start.
Our new mattress is really firm but we both like it. I went and tried all the beds at Raymore and Flanigan in West Springfield and found one that worked.

The other thing that we’ve realized is that I stopped walking every day when Cookie died, which was over a year ago.
We still walk some, but certainly not as much – even though I VOWED that I would keep up my daily walks. Uggh.
Then this summer in the heat I couldn’t bear to walk much at all! And in just that short time, I have lost enough strength that my gait has been effected and that is sort of throwing everything off!
So, I have exercises to do to strengthen and I am back to walking more regularly. I go to the YMCA and am in the very beginning of strength training.
I guess what I realized is the sign in my physical therapist’s office that says
Never.
Stop.
Moving.
is accurate.
So, those are my insights from the YMCA in Greenfield this morning. Also, I have been much better about charging my headphones so now I am associating the gym with listening to music I love which makes it much easier to go.
I also am inspired by this woman on Instagram- @thiswomanlifts
Elizabeth Davis who has smart and funny things to say about women and gaining strength and “Training for our old lady body.”

Hope you are out there moving in this beautiful weather
We had a lovely time at the moon circle on Friday and I’m going to donate the $52 I made to the World Kitchen again this week because things are really rough and we have to keep taking care of ourselves, taking care of each other and speaking up for truth, this beautiful planet, our neighbors and for our humanity.
Link to donate if you are called:
