Relief with Tapping

Newsletter   February 2026  Volume 190

Hello there,

I hope you’re doing well.

This past week I got some time to settle in and appreciate deep winter so I feel a bit less itchy and resistant to the coming of spring.

And it’s good I did because I was able to enjoy the raucous bird song this morning! And notice that every day sunlight is elbowing out a bit more of darkness on both ends of the day. The  morning sky is soft and graying earlier and earlier and the sunset over the snow is later and later.

But it is still winter. Snow is falling out there.

The Connecticut River – the big beautiful river I drive over –  is frozen, at least on the surface.

It looks quiet and flat; it’s strange to see it looking so still.

I love when the big rivers thaw and the large chunks of ice make their way downstream.

It made me think of how tapping and doing energy work breaks down frozen patterns and gets energy flowing.

Most of you have been around to hear me talk or write about tapping/ EFT before, but there are some new people here who might not be aware of this wonderful, flexible, easy to use and free method for releasing stress, overwhelm and pain.

Tapping involves gently tapping on pressure point on your hands and face. This gentle tapping on the end of the acupuncture meridians -or energy pathways in the body- resets the nervous system and dramatically calms the amygdala deep in the brain and decreases cortisol – halting the fight or flight cascade in the nervous system.

It is really an amazing technique and has been used to deal with phobias like fear of public speaking and flying. It helps with acute pain and chronic pain, PTSD, insomnia, and many other things.

It really is a wonderful tool  to have in your toolbox for when you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed in your day-to-day life or during big stressful situation.

I have found it really helpful at assisting me in to try and stay calm and connected to myself and the world around me during such a tumultuous time.

We are experiencing so much despair, shock, grief and deep disappointment. Tapping/EFT is a really helpful way to lessen the pain and let it move through you until you are in a more relaxed and balanced state.

I taught a workshop to early childhood educators over the last 2 weeks. They are under tremendous stress so they came to a class to teach them how to tap for stress relief and emotional regulation.

It was on zoom and it was really fun.

People were enthusiastic and ready to learn a tool that is free, easy to do and can go anywhere with you.

They were so glad to have a way that helps to shift and clear their energy; letting the blockages shift and release like the melting ice on the river – letting the river flow.

I’m going to edit the slides from the class and record it because the feedback from the participants was that it was very helpful.

I’ll offer it as an online class and as a bonus with the Flourish with the Moon class I am so excited about to be offering soon.

Every year in February The Tapping Solution – an organization that offers education on tapping along with a  wonderful array of free resources offers The Tapping Summit.

This year it’s starting February 23. Usually, I notice just as it is starting or after it has already started, but this year I’m telling you with plenty of time for you to sign up.

The conference is free.

They will encourage you to buy the package, but you don’t have to, just try and make it to any of the programs/lectures that appeal to you.

I learn something every year and just tapping in community, even if it’s a virtual, reminds you that you are not alone doing this silly tapping on your face method 😂, and you are in good company.

Some years I only make it into a few some years I make it to more, but it has consistently good speakers who are knowledgeable and have great insights.

Here is the link to sign up. Hope you take a minute to do that. There are helpful intro videos that go over the basics of tapping.

I also recommended the Tapping Solution app to the folks in the class because it is a nice resource for tapping. There is an automated check in at the beginning and a script to follow and then check in at the end.

It is a great helper when you are in the beginning of your tapping adventure or if you like concrete guidance. The app is in your phone’s App Store under “The Tapping Solution”

I hope you try some tapping or integrate it even more into your life. It is a helpful and supportive tool and in these times we need all the help we can get!
