Full moon and eclipse

The moon will be full this Saturday and there will also be a lunar eclipse. I love eclipses. It is so starling to see our familiar moon look so red and mysterious.  Like the equinoxes and solstices, eclipses offer an opportunity for change, a shifting of energies but these give me an excuse to get out at night and look at the sky.  This eclipse is different, though. To see it in the Northeast of the US we’ll have to get up at 6:15 in the morning (when it looks like there is a 50% chance of rain.)

One thing I always remind myself on a rainy moon night is; even if you can’t see the moon because of clouds in the sky – it’s still there.  So I’ll pull myself out of bed and take the dog outside to see what I can see.  I caught the last lunar eclipse out of my car window of the way to work early in the morning. What a sight; the moon was glowing a shadowy red, peeking out from behind a wall of grey clouds.  If there is nothing to see I’ll be glad I gave it a try and I can imagine what is happening behind the clouds.

Then I’ll slide right back under the covers and go back to bed!

Let me know what you see on Saturday morning!
