The snow is melting, finally! The birds are singing up a storm. I saw my first Great Blue Heron of the season flying overhead yesterday. The sugar maples are decorated with sap buckets and the sap is running. Sometimes on these cold mornings the sap has turned to clear ice in the bottom of the buckets. We bring a little cup with us on our walks and take some sips of the sweet cold sap.
Spring seemed so far away during this long cold winter, but it’s actually here. The weather isn’t warm and luscious yet, but that is coming!
I am enjoying each shift of the season as we move more and more into the full bloom of spring! What signs of spring did you notice today?
